Kanye Omari West is a rapper/producer who hails from Chicago Illinois. He was born on June 8th, 1977 and will be turning 30 this year. As of now he has released two albums The College Dropout and Late Registration both have gone to triple platinum since. He also released Late Orchestration which is a live album and is double platinum. His third album Graduation is said to be released early 2007 (spring) Besides these albums Kanye has released many mixtapes as well, (17 to date) Since 2005 he has been nominated 18 times at the Grammy's taking home 6 for: (2005) Best rap album, best rap song, best R&B song, (2006) Best rap album, best rap song, best rap solo performance. To sum up Kanye West is one of the best rappers/producers in the world as well as one of the most controverisal, popular, discussed, and anticipated.
Kanye West is my favourite rapper; his best tracks are: Jesus Walks, Hey Mama, Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Roses, Gold Digger, Get Em' High, Touch the Sky, Drive Slow, Crack Music, My Way Home, Slow Jamz, Heard Em' Say, Through the Wire, Impossible, The New Workout Plan, and so many more!

It takes a real asshole like Kanye West to ruin someone's moment. As much as I don't really like Taylor Swift's music, the guy shows he has no appreciation for what he has.

kanye is a great rapper, live artist and above all producer... however i'd like to point out that just coz he raps about god and is openly catholic, doesnt mean he is squeeky clean, he himself says hes "rappin' 'bout money, hoes, and rims again"
regardless, he is a great talent and has quickly found his place in hip hop and is already leaving a mark on music as we know it. hes produced for an ecclectic collection of artists further proving his talent as an producer and made me a big fan along the way
his debut album provides insight into religion, his opinion on school and of course his own experiences, be them of life, near death, jobs and the record industry
i went and saw kanye live and he is an amazing live act, and overall artist bringing a new flava to the music industry.

A Rapper that blames racism for all the problems in the world. I like his music, but I didnt like what he said at the Hurricane Katrina Concert. Kanye West claimed that "George Bush doesnt care about black people" and that American is going to help the poor as slow as possible. He also claims that in the films of the aftermath of Katrina if they show a black family, theyre looting and if they show a white family, they're looking for food. First of all, that isnt true. While George Bush isnt my favorite president, I know that he isnt racist against black people and that America does care about the poor and saying that it doesnt is just an excuse to get poor people to look better. Second of all, the reason why the black people are looting is because they are the ones that are generally poor and they are the ones that need to loot. A white family generally would not need to loot if they had enough money. Theyres nothing racist going here, hes just being paranoid.
Kanye West needs to learn that racism is not a main issue these days and that America does care about the poor.

he is a better rapper than 50 Cent, but that obviously means shit. He is an ok producer when he doesnt have those annoying-ass sped up samples. As a rapper, he is very, very average, and basic. Although this may seem like i have a negative opinion about him, i dont, he has produced some great songs (ex. get by, guess who's back, heartbeat), but as you may notice, none have him rapping, because his wannabe mase flow unfourtanetly doesnt equate to classic. And oh yeah, who said hes derived from 2Pac & biggie is an idiot, because they talked about crack/guns/bitches/etc. (although early 2Pac was socially-conscious, where one could easily see his chuck d/public enemy influences).
