r/atheism

Despite the other definition saying that r/atheism is not a place filled with bigoted assholes, it is. Simply a visit to its front page reveals this and calling all the members of one faith "brain washed" is not only being retarded but it is also generalizing on a foolish preconceived notion based on personal experience.

The idiots over at r/atheism are incapable of having an intellectual discussion. They simply post insulting memes about God and Christians (they mostly don't touch on other faiths as they have an irrational hatred against Christians) but ask them why they're atheist and they can never give a good reason. Some of their reasons are below:

"I'm gay and God hates gays and therefore he doesn't exist!"

"My sister died! God didn't prevent that and therefore this universe came from nothing!"

They will not consider any other world-view such as agnosticism or deism. Anything disagreeing with them is "Christian" or "unscientific" even though they're the unscientific ones for relying on anecdotal claims.

Recently, r/atheism came up with a series of images where its members would take pictures of themselves explaining why they're atheist. For a good laugh, Google "faces of atheism" and go onto images. You'll find half-naked men and old balding men sticking their middle fingers up saying that they don't believe in God because they are intellectual. As if! These monkeys clearly don't know their left hand from their right!

r/atheism is the home of assholes and professional quote makers such as A.A Lewis.

Atheism Plus

A horrible idea developed to combine several movements: atheism, feminism, L.G.B.T., social justice, and skepticism. The idea is poor because:

1) These individual movements have differing frames of reference and goals
2) It seeks to divide established groups into a minority of minorities

-Not all atheists are skeptics, not all skeptics are feminist, not all feminist and atheist, etc.
3) It alienates supporters of each movement, which likely outnumbers the A+ members in all cases.

-Example: feminism moving to A+ would alienate religious feminist

Atheism only address one question, is belief in a deity or deities supported by evidence, which is why it’s powerful. Atheism does not provide a world view about how to live nor should it. There are existing terms for these other movements and the combination of all social justice issues. It’s called β€œsocial equality” and” humanism”. Atheism plus is a divisive movement started by short sighted-power seeking Prima Donnas looking to hijack and existing movement (atheism) for personal glory and intellectual bigotry.

Let’s all join atheism plus so we can sit on our high-horses and talk shit about everyone else.

Instead of helping millions of dying Africans by spreading atheism and promoting the use of condoms, let’s join the feminist, slow the progress of atheism by alienating members, and promote internal bickering.

r/atheism

A subreddit dedicated to the subject of atheism. despite claiming to be tolerant and logical, the subreddit commonly spreads misinformation about various faiths, (mostly Abrahamic ones), referring to religious people as "mentally ill" or stupid. occasionally, they call for banning religion itself, and fail to understand that some scientists are religious. they also seem to think religious people are inherently stupid.

examples of its users being horrid and pettyinclude:
getting upset when someone use phrases like "thank god"
referring to faiths as cults (and spreading historical misconceptions)
referring to catholics as cannibals
calling religion brainwashing and saying christians are nazis (cause apparently praying automatically makes people fascists)

r/atheism

The cringiest place on the internet.

The average r/atheism poster: Real warriors don't use guns or swords, but knowledge and wisdom. This is something that the religitards don't seem to understand. However, when you have the combined intelligence of an infantile ardepithecus ramidus (of which shares a common ancestor with the homo sapien if any religitards who don't understand the human geneology happen to be reading) it all begins to make sense. They're all fucking idiots and I hate them so much for that reason. Everything they stand for is so logically flawed. Their entire belief structure is based on emotion. Imagine being so sad. I grew up christian, but then my dog died of canine aids, and I realized there can't be a god!! because how could something so cruel happen to my little floof? I talked about it to my mom, and she said it's sad but to MOVE ON! And that dogs don't go to heaven! As if my little floofer doesn't have any FEELINGS!! How can someone who calls themselves a christian be so cold hearted? And if someone who believes in a god is bad, that means there are no gods ever. I'm 15 and I hate my mom.

Militant Atheism

Militant atheism is a term applied to atheism which is hostile towards religion. Historically, the main usage of the term refers to the doctrine advocating the propagation of atheism among the masses, as well as the combating of religion as a harmful aberration, which was often undertaken by atheist states. This application of the term was an integral part of the materialism of Marxism-Leninism, and significant in the French Revolution, the Soviet Union, and Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.

Student: Have there ever been any antireligious extremists?

Professor: Yes, in the Soviet Union for example, militant atheism was official doctrine; churches, mosques, and temples were liquidated and those that remained were forbidden to give to the poor or carry on educational activities. Moreover, thousands of believers were imprisoned or executed.

r/atheism

The biggest circlejerk on reddit.

I can't believe r/atheism's front page still consists of facebook arguments with fundies, Richard Dawkins quotes, and self-righteous self-criticism. It's worse than r/circlejerk.
