Book It Forward

The act of gifting a book for no reason and expecting nothing in return, only hoping they will gift a book as well. A good way to recycle books you've already read.

My friend Jennifer was having a tough week so I decided to Book It Forward and I bought her a book on Amazon.

Penny it Forward

The act of leaving your left over penny or pennies from unwanted change at the counter of a convenient store.

"Mister, don't you want the rest of your change?"

"Nah, just Penny it Forward'"

Flash Forward

1) When a character in the televison show LOST has an episode about them where the flashes are about their future and what it will entail.

2) To see your future or an audience witnesses your future and you don't know it.

1) Guy 1: I cannot believe Sayid is a hitman, Jack is living with Kate, Kate's raising Aaron, and Hurley is back in the mental hospital!
Guy 2: Yeah it's awesome and Ben totally kicked the asses of those two dudes on the horses in the Sahara desert!
Guy 1: Sweet action!

2) Guy 1: Dude, I think I'm going to die soon since everyone has been getting flash forwards and all I've been getting is flashbacks!

looking forward

"Looking forward" and "going forward" are annoying expressions that mean "in the future". They have been in universal use for years in corporate America and came about for legal reasons. Companies are held liable by the Securities and Exchange Commission for any statements or predictions made about the future. They can be sued by investors if they make a statement about the future and it does not come true. The word "future" was therefore completely erased from the corporate vocabulary and replaced by "looking forward" and "going forward". These annoying terms are used constantly to qualify almost every statement made in order to avoid legal liability. In corporate America today, the word "future" NEVER comes out of the mouth of any corporate officer or anyone who makes official statements to the public (if he or she expects to keep their job).

Looking forward, sales of the company are expected to increase in the first quarter.

Pooping-it-Forward

Based on the pay-it-forward theory, but in an office environment. One worker walks in on a co-worker while that co-worker is pooping in a communal bathroom stall. That worker, who walks in on a co-worker, then is walked in on by another co-worker while pooping in a communal bathroom stall, thus pooping-it-forward.

In Dennis’ first few weeks with Company A he really needed to take a poop. He entered the men’s room and pulled open the handicap stall door and there sat Jason, Dennis’ co-worker, dropping the kids off at the pool. A few months later Randy, another Company A employee, had a Taco Bell moment where he just had to go. In a hurry he flung open the handicap stall door and found Dennis upon the company throne, pooping, while texting his girl. At that point, Dennis completed the cycle of pooping-it-forward.

going forward

Verbal counterpart of iconic hand-gesture popularized by ruthless vegetarian dictator similarly dedicated to the concealment of freedom-of-conscience and individual weakness with the procreation of transparently robotic, corporate memes.

"Thinking for myself is something I will definitely have to look into in the fut...err, going forward."
