guyote herd

The small to large herd (or pack) of males perusing a bar, searching for female stragglers (away from their group) or lone targets. Just think of a pack of coyotes and their hunting methods. Except being filled with booze.

Jane: Do you see that group of guys there? Some of them are kinda cute.

Jill: Yes, be careful. That's a guyote herd. Don't go to the bathroom by yourself. Take someone with you. And don"t wander too far from the bar either!

herd immunity

When the herd of sheeple has become immune to logic and evidence and makes decisions based on popular rumor and emotion.

When enough people get their information about the world from social media, we will have reached herd immunity.

Herd immunity

Herd immunity is a mathematical protection that hasn't been proven to work in practise.

Sweden is trying to achieve herd immunity by reaching more people that has become infected or have gone through the infection than those who have yet not. (Through the disease or vaccination)

In short meaning it's more likely to come across a person whom should've developed an immunity.

Herd immunity is the mathematical protection of not catching the virus.

Protects you in theory but not in practise.

Idea is that there's a bigger chance to come in contact with someone immune than somebody who isn't.

But that wont save you if you come in contact with somebody carrying the virus. Spoiler; you will be infected.

ride herd

This is a term typically used by senior management when they want you to focus all efforts on the newest "shiny thing" that just popped up. The new thing is often less important than your usual work and will distract you to the point that they will later ask you why you aren't meeting deadlines. When someone tells you to ride herd, this should be a moment where you question your career choice.

Hey Todd, can you get Sam on the phone and ride herd till this is figured out?
