"Hippie," Can be used as a shrug off to someone, or as a label of being 'free spirited', or having 'alternative views.' Hippies experience oneness within nature and fellow humans. There concepts of space and time may be more of the universalist perspective. Fair trade and family businesses are perferred over corporate companies that take up our earth. As Bob Marley said it in "Concrete Jungle." A misconception with marijuana is that is a of the earth so it just enhances their perception to the higher states of consciousness, expercining sacred geometry, and intuition.

Hippies are generally peace loving and laid back people. They are so laid back that they go months without bathing or cutting their hair. Their clothes are often unwashed. They tend to reject the establishment, "the man", or whatever you want to call it. For this reason, they generally do not have jobs and are not productive members of society. They are not intelligent because if they were, they would realize that their laziness is hurting the world they claim they love more than it is helping.

I have nothing against long hair,pot or good music.

People who were born in the early 50's, had a revolution somewhere in the 70's, traveled to San Fransisco to start a revolution. Now most participate in smoking American Spirit Cigarettes because it's "healthy", buying pot off us teenagers, complain about the atmosphere, and yet STILL drive their VW buses and bugs which do more damage to the air then most SUV's that they fight against.
