The mentality of one who is good at begging and bad at accepting responsibility.
John has a job and makes decent money, but he's bad at paying rent and other bills. Every time I see him, he's asking me for money. John has a bum mentality.
A mild cerebral hiatus from consciously entertaining expectations from the perilous and numbing things that infiltrate our lives (e.g. bill collectors, crappy jobs, stale relationships, etc). It can last as long as one desires, and, depending on one's skill, can go completely unnoticed.
This work deadline has been the only thing on my mind lately. I think a mental vacation would serve me well.
That one friend in the group who seems nice a pie normally and pretty straight-laced, but as soon as the party starts, they start downing bottles of gin and turn into an alter ego party animal - mental kev.
