A person intelligent enough to know that not one being created all that surrounds us. A person who doesn't pray to some unfathomable creature, in hopes that everything will be made better. Atheists do not have religion because it seems that it is only a CRUTCH for those who are weak minded.
Religion is a crutch for those who are weak minded, an ATHEIST relies on their own mind alone.

An atheist is simply anyone who rejects the theist claim.
No belief or disbelief is required. Atheist is certainly not a belief system. There are many valid reasons for rejecting the theist claim. The lack of evidence to support their claim is only one of them.

Someone who isn't stupid enough, or gullible enough, to believe in magic, or silly creation myths, especially those of certain ancient, backwater desert tribes.

A person who does not believe that a "god" or supreme being exists. And, although often forgotten, this does include not beliving Satan, also. So, no, we're not Gothic; we just don't have a preference. Some Atheist people may sound arrogant to you, but it is just that they are having trouble understanding why you belive in god, and you are having trouble understanding they don't. They usually don't make a big deal of it, unless you offend them just because you belive otherwise. This is not to be confused with being agnostic, which is a person who is not sure whether a supreme being exists or not.
