United States of America.
The first modern democracy. A country based on an idea, freedom. While almost everybody thinks Usa is the devil, I think it´s the scapegoat of the whole world. Usa has a lot of bad things (funny: the things that other countries copy) but wich one is a perfect country? Just read Jean Francois Revel´s "Antiamerican obsession". I love Usa, and I love what they do/did for us (WW2,Cold war,Israel...), and the culture (music, movies, writers...) I dont like the guns and the "body culture" that´s true, but is their country.
In that part, they can recognize their defects(i.e."American Beauty", the book "Main Street" by Sinclair Lewis...), something that other countries don´t do.

The United States of America is a constitutional republic in North America, made of 50 states and Puerto Rico. It began in the 1600's when English Puritans came to the new world to escape religious persecution. The settlers established 13 colonies, now known as New England. In the late 18th century, the Americans rebelled against England. With the help of France, the Americans won the war and their independence.
Unfortunately, it took many years for the American government to recognize civil rights written by the Founding Fathers years before. Women were not given rights until the early 20th century. Black people were persecuted until the 60's. And even today, homosexual couples can only marry in Massachusetts. This is because of the incredibly Christian government America has. They believe gay marriage isn't what God allows as marriage. And they fail to realize that the Founding Fathers separated church and state.
America is rapidly becoming a target for hatred all around the world. The USA saved many people in the World Wars, but Its reputation was shattered with the presidency of George W. Bush. He invaded two countries (Afghanistan and Iraq) simply because they were Islamic nations and the man who sent people to attack the USA was a jihadist. Many countries fail to realize that the US government is responsible for the invasion, not the American people.
With prices rising, rights fading, and religious nuts controlling the country, the USA is slowly headed towards feudalism. In a hundred years, citizens of America may be living in the same conditions as medeival Europeans. But if we rise against the government, the USA will once again become a democracy.
The USA is an amazing country with a terrible government.

Currently the best country in the world, and will awalys be. Aslo saved ur french/english asses from hitler in WWII

Country that invented everything important also saved europe twice in WWI and WWII, the worlds largest superpower and the most influence on the world, there was one thing wrong with the US and that was bush and every f****ing country cant give that up cause it is the only thing wrong and will ever be wrong with the US. (also there is an election coming in 2008) and there will be no more bush. also the US has the greatest colleges in the world and many non citizens go there because the greatest country in the world allows them.

Because almost every other country has a way to write their countries name in one word with only the first letter capitalized like any other proper noun.
America is a sad excuse of a name for USA considering America is "A country that claims the name of an entire continent to itself alone for no compelling reason. "
Literally anyone: "Dude this website is about jokes, why tf are you posting an essay about your thoughts on how to capitalize Usa here? Grow up."
