Armchair Fan

People who claim to have a huge interest in a Football team they very rarely watch and when they do watch it is on the television, mainly Match of the day. Most armchair fans support Man UTD.

Greg Clayton is a Man UTD 'fan' who averages 5 games a season watched on match of the day but seems to think he knows whats going on. This is an armchair fan.

jaypan fan

From lyrics of "Jackson" probably referring to a Japanese Fan which a distinguished lady might use on a hot day in the old South.

June Carter and Johnny Cash banter in the song about a hot and cold marriage. He's going to Jackson to "mess around," and she says to go ahead and make a fool of yourself.

a "jaypan fan," Japanese Fan is a Geisha accessory who uses it for more than just cooling but as an expression of shyness or being coy or in a fit of rage shutting it up with a flip of the wrist not unlike flashing a switchblade

Plastic Fan

A plastic fan is a sports fan who supports a certain team just because of their glory. Plastic fans will usually have little to no knowledge of their preferred club, and will get overly defensive when you point out their lack of it. They will also never go to games or even watch them on T.V. - When you ask them why, they will probably blurt out the excuse "I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE PLAYING!!!!" or "I COULDN'T BE BOTHERED TO WATCH THEM!!!"

PERSON ONE - "Elena started supporting Man City after they won the league last year despite claiming that she's "Chelsea till I die"

PERSON TWO - "Well what do you expect from a plastic fan, they're all the same..."

Grinspoon Fan

Grinspoon Fans are walking contradictions. They have deep issues with moving on from childhood (eg. Frequently seen wearing fairy wings, plastic princess crowns or backpacks featuring child-entertainment groups in an attempt to be "cute" and "squishy"- ie. The Wiggles, Hi-5, the Teletubbies, Bob The Builder are a popular choice for bodily promotion)--- yet at the same time, strive to be adult-ish.

The ways in which FEMALE Grinners attempt to be "grown-up" is by hanging out with large male-dominated groups, who generally also stray fondly into the Grinspoon Fan category, although the occassional silently brooding goth who trails within these groups can be found. They also enjoy jumping of the backs or shoulders of the males in these groups, showing off their lack of bodily fat and muscle tone. Many dance like hippies, act like Avril Lavigne (yet at the same time insist on their hate towards her) and purposely act like a "dork" to appear "cool" amongst their peers.

MALE Grinners are somewhat the same, but due to double standards do not choose to hang out in large groups of girls ("gay") but prefer to hang in mostly all-male groups or groups with 1 or 2 girls (Usually the girlfriends of other mates). Male Grinners usually select 1 or 2 close fellow Grinner males and become "wild" partakers in mosh-pits, frequently brandishing the "rock on" finger gesture and pretend to be deeply rooted in the music surrounding them, so much so they can enter what is known as the GRINSPOON trance, in which it does not matter how many weaker beings may be hurt or have the Grinner's sweaty armpit in their face in the process, but they aim to cause CHAOS or "death" circles. Or as we prefer to call them, "Circles of Grin".

Note: Grinspoon Fan is a term that does not actually apply to the good fans of the great band Grinspoon, but rather those that show up at any show looking like the description above, and acting like they have a right to be stupid.

For examples of Grinspoon Fans, see definition.

mainstream fan

a stupid pop fan, will like whatever gets radioplay/whatever's popular. has no real music interests or preferences, just whatever it on billboard or trl. some one who only knows the big singles. they are typically teens that don't know what their own opinions are yet.

in my opinion, these people aren't even music fans. just clones. if you are one of those people where the only songs you listen to have music videos and are on mtv, STOP! there is SO much great music out there are you need to find out what you like! Don't let ANYONE else's opinion on music effect yours, just listen to the music you like!

sally is a mainstream fan. her favorite song is whatever is number one on the charts.
