A type of irony in which Fate, the Universe, God, or whichever omnipotent force you choose makes it their sole purpose to mess with your life. They like to screw you over, and watch the mayhem while laughing at your misfortune.
Never knowing why things went wrong in his life, Mike felt like the victim of some sort of cruel cosmic irony.

When someone says something that is of controversial nature, then decides whether it was irony or not based on the other people's responses.
Guy 1: "I fucking hate everyone"
Guy 2: "That's not very nice..."
Guy 1: "Chill, it's just a joke ok?"
Guy 2: "Yeah sure, that's just Schrodinger's Irony"
Something that is ironic only by virtue of the fact that it is considered ironic when it is in fact, not; when an event is in fact a coincidence but instead is passed off as irony.
The fact that it rained on your wedding day is Morissettian irony, because you thought it was ironic, but it really wasn't.

A large group of narrow-minded, usually internet dwelling people who attack anyone whose use of the term irony doesn't conform to their rigid, overly specific definition of it.
Irony Police Officer: "Alanis Morissette doesn't know what irony is!! Duhhh, rain on your wedding day's just unfortunate!!
Some Guy: But don't people expect their wedding day to be perfect, the ultimate good day? And doesn't rain symbolize a bad or imperfect day? And so wouldn't bad weather on a wedding day be an unexpected outcome, and therefore ironic?
Irony Police officer: Uhh... No, I once saw this stand-up comedian, and he said the events described in that song were unfortunate. Stand-up comedians are always right.

Someone who scans every use of the word irony, and if it doesn't rigidly adhere to Ed Byrne's definition of situational irony, he proceeds to attack, often reciting Byrne's stand up act. See also irony police.
