A phrase popular with white college students due to its usefulness in dealing with the police. Famously uttered by Andrew Meyer in a dozen YouTube clips. Note that this phrase should ONLY be used if you believe that an officer of the law is your "bro" (hence its unpopularity with the non-white/non-rich)

A last minute plea for mercy. This phrase is usually uttered seconds before an inevitable beat-down or an encounter with overwhelming force which has usually been asked for by over-the-top behavior on the part of the victim.
(First uttered by Univerity of Florida college student Andrew Meyer just before he was tasered by University of Florida police during a John Kerry appearance at UF.)

It means: "Don't annoy me." "Don't make me angry." It's something you'd say to someone who was bugging you, or teasing you, or otherwise getting on your nerves---warning them that you might lose your temper and respond in a way they won't like.
-Hey, Why are you drinking so much, dude?
-Don't mess with me.
