Being defined as a child of shadows: Mindy was the middle child. Always in her siblings shadows. Never got the first glance or attention. Never the first or even second priority of her parents.
This would be an oldest sibling, who was ignored like a typical middle sibling but probably due to their parents splitting and having children with their new partners
