now im into death metal, heavy metal, grindcore, black metal etc... all that stuff, but think twice about some bands like slipknot i was reading up on them and they started off with a different singer and an underground metal band ..... i mean so what if there in it for the money, You wanna high paying job and ur good at writing whining lyrics that ppl can relate too so be it, there not true metal ... but thats the thing they come closist too (metal,rock,hiphop) and then there are just fag bands like deftones that say there good but they suck ass and no1 likes em :)
Linkin Park, Deftones, Disturbed, Static-X ... and metallica are slowely turning nu-metal i hate to say it coz they dont do solos anymore and they show them on tv :(

-no solos or breakdowns
-piece of shit vocals
-crap distortion that just makes noise
-most mainstream heavy metal
okay so butt metal means bands that just suck so much, and suck ass
butt metal includes the big names like:
megadeath, korn, metallica, disturbed, camshaft, burning graceland, nickelback, etc

Nu Metal is a form of music that evolved from punk/hardcore in the metal deprived years of the early nineties. The band that is most often credited with the creation of Nu Metal is KoRn, or in other words the greatest band ever. Nu Metal is unique because unlike heavy metal which involves a more complicated and changing guitar riff, a Nu Metal riff is more repetitive and simpler, which means that most songs revolve around the tempo/pitch of the riff. Nu Metal has been on the descent because of shit bands like Limp Bizkit and slipknot, but many people fail to realize several other good Nu Metal bands such as Tool, KoRn, Godsmack, and Disturbed. Another thing, metal was failing miserably in the nineties, especially after the grunge era with bands like Nirvana, and metal was going to soon be pronounced dead, but like I stated earlier, with the arrival of bands like KoRn metal was reenergized and popular again. So the next time your going to bash Nu Metal, or a Nu Metal band, thank them (or at least the early ones, some new Nu Metal bands like slipknot suck) for saving the heavy metal that we all love today

Sure ok, Disturbed, Linkin Park, whoever else you say is "nu-metal" well, I could give less of a shit if you called Linkin Park the most hard core boy band, because they kick ass!
Linkin Park is fucking über, as well as all the other so called "nu-metal" bands.
