Jeter Effect

When a co-worker routinely struggles to achieve success with relatively simple tasks, but maintains the benefit of illusion to the uniformed observer that something grueling is being tackled, thereby garnering undue praise.

I'm getting real tired of Joe in accounting getting all that praise for doing shit. His job is mindless. He's got some serious Jeter Effect going on.

Rikidozan Effect

A theoretical phenomenon that occurs when a puroresu (Japanese pro wrestling) audience is so happy to see a native wrestler win over a gaijin, or foreigner, out of pure nationalistic pride, that said gaijin's gimmick is ignored, regardless of whether they "get it" or not.

"Well, Big Bossman's original "prison warden/security guard" gimmick may have been "lost" on the Japanese fans, but, then again, they may have succumbed to the "Rikidozan Effect" and been rendered indifferent to it."

Jia Effect

j-ee-uh ef·fect

The "Jia effect" refers to the unfortunate occurrence of experiencing a streak of bad luck in video games whenever JiaKatt participates in the same game session, leading to unfavorable outcomes and challenges for the affected player(s).

Night was excited to join the online gaming session, but little did she know that the "Jia Effect" would strike again, causing her to encounter numerous setbacks and frustrations in the game whenever JiaKatt joined.

The calileo effect

The art form of adding emphasis by repeating the word in your previous message, however the word is separated into letters to stand out and pursuade the other member(s) of the text that the information is indeed correct.

THE CALILEO EFFECT IN ACTION

The Trainline Effect

An observable effect that results in the myopic and inattentive rejection of newer technology without logic and reason, and accusing the technology of causing issues that are simply human error (while the technology provides accurate information based on the request made by the user). This can be observed amongst large samples of the railway workforce.

I observed The Trainline Effect in action as the militant RMT rep once again blogged about a broken ticket machine, exclaiming “COMPUTERS NEVER WORK!”

US Effect

When a guy goes to US, it makes him automatically hotter.

“That guy is so ugly but he goes to US so he’s hot.” “It’s the US effect!”
