it seems so common, but it's just the same

These inspirational song lyrics mean basic or average. Metamorphosis is nowhere in sight. Can be used when someone is "back on their bullshit"

"she literally has a butterfly tattoo. it seems so common, but it's just the same."

"alex is obsessing over a chick out of his league, it seems so common but it's just the same"

that dog just isn't gonna hunt

A Southern slang. Basically the same as saying "That isn't going to work," or "That's not going to fly."

Roy was all set to go into town, when his truck broke down. "That dog just isn't gonna hunt!" he exclaimed!

social "just us" glory whore

A person who only views social issues from their side and always tries to get all the attention for themselves and not the issue.

Ceci would not shut up about how the social injustice of racism negatively impacted her commute to work and how she has worked to make things better for everyone. She was viewed as a social "just us" glory whore by those she claimed to defend but refused to give a ride to on her way to work - she wouldn't let them in her car.

You just scorched my ass

To burn, brand, or scorch a person's rear-end.

Ryan: "You just scorched my ass."
Peter: "That's what she said... No, that's really what she said... His penis was very hot and he was doing her anally and she said, "You just scorched my ass.""

I'm just tryna help, Ike

From 'what's love got to do with it?' Meaning: helping someone with something they REALLY don't need or want your help with - or not giving someone the help they need.

BB: Why did you give my number JJ, he is not cute to me?
KK: But he is nice and really likes you. I'm just tryna help, Ike...
BB: Ike don't need no help!

Well doesn't that just take the biscuit.

A phrase used in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxyseries.
A mild expression of astonishment, similar in meaning to "Well, that's interesting" or "Well DAMN!", but far far more amusing.

X: Hey Y, did you hear?
Y: What?
X: They're actually going to enforce the dress code now.
Y: *pauses* ...well doesn't that just take the biscuit.
