intellectual hostage

Someone who changes their opinion on a given subject because they have been verbally bullied into it by others, as in a social media post. They don't really believe this view as true but say they do out of fear of being ostracized by others in the community.

She humiliated the man on a social media post until he agreed with her viewpoint on the subject and became her intellectual hostage.

Intellectual Skinhead

A member of the skinhead subculture that is considered by others or considers themselves to be intellectual. They are smarter than the average dumb skinhead.

The character Hando played by Russell Crowe in Romper Stomper is an example of this.

skinhead: Let's go Paki bashing rofl
Intellectual skinhead: No. We shouldn't draw unnecessary attention to ourselves.
Nipster: Wow. I thought you was a dumb thug like the rest. Turns out you are an intellectual skinhead.

Typically those who overemphasise their scholastic experience or qualifications as a justification to belittle, marginalise or dismiss your opinion as pedestrian, limited or invalid.

They made claims that forwarded their ignorance and supposed superiority had an air of pseudo-intellectual proclivities.
