Translated from the Japanese word, 「援助交際 」or "Enjo-kōsai." Compensated Dating is a term used to describe young women going on dates with older men in exchange for money or gifts. These dates often end in sexual activities. It is a form of prostitution, however most women who participate in Enjo-kōsai do not view themselves as prostitutes.
Although this term originated in Japan, compensated dating has spread to other East Asian countries and has even stretched to the USA under the phrases sugar daddy and sugar baby.

If it does not work or either party does not like the other for whatever reason then each can go their own ways not feeling taken advantage of. Most will find that the “Date Digger” will become offended, or decline the date under these circumstances, and the man should immediately move on ignoring any of her attempts to coheres him into going thru with it, these situations should be a red flag that she is not truly interested in getting to know him or being involved in a serious relationship.

A date that has absolutely no meaning to at least one person partaking in it. This type of date is used in lieu of a usual romantic date. Its characterized by one person agreeing with everything the other person says, and trying their best to play the role of a good listener, a.k.a. the "Zombie" tactic. Their intent is to trick the other person into thinking they are are caring and attentive. The person does this in order to get laid and usually doesn't care about the other person's thoughts or feelings.
