Audio Collage

A term to describe a song (usually rap) that uses a chopped up sample and/or various pieces of audio to make one piece of music that work harmoniously.

“Have you checked out Jukebox Joints from A$AP ROCKY? The audio collage in this is so good!”

Lettuce audio

Unnatural, hollow-sounding, overly crisp audio used a lot in video advertisements.

Half of the reason why I can't stand Youtube ads is because of the frequent use of lettuce audio. I don't like feeling like my ears are biting into a head of Romaine.

audio janet

A funny wordplay referring to female audio jack. It is coined by Mehdi Sadaghdar, well known by his YouTube channel called ElectroBOOM, who usually shocks himself with electricity. In his video called 'Trying to Make a Wireless Lavalier Microphone', he used that expression to call the thing, which I have written about at the start of the description. (Yes, I learn British English)

Salesman: What would you like to buy?
Customer: I'd like to buy an audio janet.
Salesman: What?
Customer: I'm talking about a female audio jack.

secondhand audio

Audio heard through somebody else's microphone in a voice chat which comes from another set of speakers.

Chad is browsing TikTok again and we keep hearing his secondhand audio.

audio pollution

When someone talks very rapidly about things you have little understanding, it's like the sound of an unwanted radio playing music that doesn't appeal to you.

His relentless ramble was a form of audio pollution.
