The term is based on a Chinese propaganda poster popularized by REM in the song of the same name. Its a term that determines that people are faking happiness or false happiness in order to fool the outside world that there are no problems. Shiny Happy People are effectively massive fakes.

A popular term used most commonly by Elementary and Middle Schoolers to try and make fun of someone because they are "gay." Basically someone would walk up to you and say "Hey have you watched the movie 'Gay People Say No'?" If you say no then you are "gay" because the tittle "says so." If you answer yes then you better have a good follow up comment. (See below for an awesome one!) You can alternatively respond with "Cool Story Bro" and watch the other person shut up.
Person 1: Hey have you ever watched the movie "Gay People Say No"?
Person 2: Yeah, I downloaded that off of ThePirateBay like two weeks ago! It was AWESOME!! My favorite part was when that one dude took down the enemy helicopter with a throwing knife!

This is in sharp contrast to real problems, experienced by people in other countries.

(Noun) Nickname given to the University of California at Berkeley in the San Francisco bay area.
Title is a play on the official name of The People's Republic Of China, and is bestowed on Berkeley due to its students reputation for fanatical (bordering on Communist) political leanings. E.G Pro-choice,Antiwar, anti-meat,fanatical gay pride etc...
Dave:'I was up at the 'People's Republic Of Berkeley' the
other day for a potluck dinner.'

The opposite of health and vitality. Mountain Dew People (MDP) can be seen at your local mall, Wal-Mart, and throughout the community Monday through Friday with their young, unfortunate, government-fed children.
You are unlikely to encounter MDP at the dentist or hospital (except in emergency situations). Stereotypical uniform includes some type of undersized athletic shorts or sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt which displays some type of idiotic innuendo or was won on a radio call in show.
I went to Hockey game tonight with my girlfriend. Turns out it was half price entry and free hot dogs so it was filled with Mountain Dew People.
