In recent years, "Karen" has become an internet slang term and meme used for entitled middle aged women (mostly targeted at female baby boomers and gen xers as of now). It's used for women who yell at employees, typically is the employee asks them to wear a face mask during a pandemic or if they make a tiny mistake while doing their job. They are also used for women who are racist, xenophobic, anti-sematic, and homophobic. They can be of any race or nationality. It's also used for women who feel that they don't have to listen to or respect authority, probably because they were never disciplined as kids and got away with everything. It's also used for women who put down younger generations for no reason, yet will get triggered if a teen says, "Ok boomer" to them. Also, they insult you based on your political or religious beliefs.

To be called 'a Karen'--not to be confused with the name--means someone who is hard to reason with, get unreasonably mad at certain things (typically managers and/or 16 year olds working their first job) and creates scenes in stores.

Karen is kind, sweet and loving. Karen is an amazing sister, a gifted daughter and a true friend. If you have a Karen by your side, you should never let her go. Karen knows how to win an argument, she is passionate about the arts, and loves to draw, read, cook, play games and be herself.
Karen’s beauty is out of this world! She had mesmerizing eyes, gorgeous long hair, and beautiful figure. Beautiful on the inside, and outside.
