parental shoulder lurking is when a parent or guardian reads your IMs, facebook, or any other computerized messaging system. they would 'lurk' over your shoulder and read your personal messages that you have with friends or other people.
me: mom! would you quit your parental shoulder lurking! i'm not doing anything bad!

When you are monitoring your email and checking your chat from home, but you are not putting in a full day's work at the computer.
Office work during the holidays is so slow that I just end up lurking from home.
the waiter or waitress at fancier restaurants that lurks around with her/his pitcher of water, ready to attack any innocent glasses that seem to be empty to him/her even if they are full to normal people. Water Lurks often result in the customer jumping out of their seat in surprise at the sudden face of a water lurk beside them without warning, causing spillage.
There was a water lurk at the new restaurant in town, she was on the prowl.
