Virtue Signaling

A term used by fascists who believe they're of a higher moral standing when someone makes a factual statement.

Jimbo: He should have just complied.
Bob: So you believe govt employees should be able to tell you what to do and punish you if you dont comply?
Jimbo: Not a chance in hell. I will not comply to the govt. I'll be damned if the govt tells me what to do.
Bob: You do know law enforcement is the govt. Buddy, that's virtue signaling.

Yee-haw signalling

The lifestyle of looking rugged like a cowboy, but is actually a suburban/well-to-do person

A form of cultural appropriation, with the culture being appropriated being that of the American southerner in both aesthetics and economics. Offenders tend to be suburban or urban middle and upper class professionals engaging in what they believe to be typical dress and attitude seen in individuals (particularly white and rural) who are working class

You see that image with Dave Crenshaw and Ben Shapiro in cowboy hats? Total yee-haw signalling

Boston Turn Signal

A lude gesture involving the extension of the third finger on the left hand out the window of a moving vehicle. While this gesture is most often reserved for the operator of the vehicle, passengers in the front and rear may be recruited as needed. ie. flying the bird as an excuse for driving like a masshole.

Jonny flashed his Boston turn signal as he cut off all the oncoming traffic.

noise-to-signal ratio

The proportion of irrelevant, off-topic, inflammatory, nonsensical, spammy, screaming, content-free, trolling, or otherwise useless statements to actual useful, worthwhile communication.

From the informal sense of signal to noise ratio, but inverted to emphasize the "noise".

"That discussion board used to be a great place to talk about politics, but now the noise-to-signal ratio is through the roof!"

"Typically, a demagogue actually benefits from nonsensical, contradictory and inflammatory statements and agendas. Ironically, the higher the noise-to-signal ratio, the more effective they become since any useful information would actually rein them in."

Illinois Turn Signal

When a driver from Illinois suddenly veers into your lane for no reason, with no turn signal whatsoever. Usually performed at high speed, and when no other cars are in the vicinity.

The idea to teach the concept of "turn signals" has been floated through years in Illinois driver's ed schools, but nothing serious has come of it.

Outside of Illinois, it is most often seen by Wisconsin and Indiana residents due to the prevalence of FIBs.

Two guys in a car: one from Wisconsin, the other from Illinois.

Wisconsin driver: That asshole just cut me off!
Illinois passenger: Oh come on, he did use the Illinois Turn Signal.
