How the retards on 4chan say "the best".
This definition has been bastardized over the last several years and now people think that some rapper coined the term...well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but "based" is just an intentionally mispronunciation of "best".

The modern use of based, as in how people may refer to themselves online in a political context, originates from African American slang in the 2000s. After it became a meme in 2010, the left started to refer to themselves as Based King or Based Queen online. Today the word is even used by the right, although ironically.
You forgot to put your pronouns. How will anyone know whether to call you based king, based queen, or based monarch?
A word used to show approval of or agreement with a meme, video or other general post that is usually extremely sexist or misogynistic in nature. Particularly common in reddit comment sections.
Person A: *shows a meme*
Person B: *nods in approval* “Based.”
Another example:

Person B: “Damn bro, that’s so based.”
