Bohemianism

The practice of an unconventional way of living. People who practice bohemianism (bohemians) often form groups that share similar opinions and mindsets. In the classical sense bohemianism was often about music, art or literary pursuits. However, the modern sense of the word includes those who break societal rules. People classified as bohemians today are often not true bohemians, rather they are people who enjoy risque behaviours and a loose lifestyle that often includes illegal drugs, excessive alcohol and unprotected sex.

Bohemianism is so overrate now a days, is just drugs and dirty sex. There's no romanticism.

bohemian

A vague term used to refer to people who live some sort of "alternative", often artistic lifestyle. The term is associated - although not exactly synonymous - with the term hippie. The term originally came to be used in this sense in 19th century France, in an attempt to liken non-conventional artist types to Romani (gypsies), who the French associated with Bohemia in Central Europe (today part of the Czech Republic).

1. I went to this really cool, bohemian cafรฉ in Barcelona, full of hippies and Rastas.

2. Jeff thinks he's some sort of bohemian, but really he's just a massive waster.

bohemian

Bohemians live in alternative spaces, these are places that are not normally considered suitable for living in. They don't make wealth their priority. Money is only a means of survival, so they can live for their arts/craft/music/literature...etc

Miranda and Ivan live in an old abandoned cynagogue, where they paint all day long. Sometimes they sell their art so they can afford to eat.
