A gamer that just plays for fun but secretly is a harcore gamer and rages when things don't go his or her way.
Hunter must be a casual gamer. I heard him raging from downstairs.

casual gamers make up the silent majority of computer and console game players that:
1, use pc and console games as a means of socializing or to connect with friends rather than as an achievement or to further their reputation as a skillful game player.
2, are by definition inferior in skill to any hardcore gamer.
3, do not play casual games.
4, play mainly console based games due to their ease of setup and "plug & play" capabiliy.
5, inherently feel a need to confront hardcore gamers due to their own inferior skills and the hardcore gamers inherent need to prove victorious.
Any casual gamer that successfully challenges a hardcore gamer is not a casual gamer, but a hardcore gamer in denial.
Obviousy, all gamers are bound by the desire to win at any given game, there would be no point to any game if that were not true, but the over-riding desire to connect with other individuals, be it close friends or distant aquaintances define the casual gamer.
Hardcore gamers have a generally negative, and often derogatory view of casual gamers, looked upon as the plauge of the video game industry. While hardcore gamers are in the minority of gamers they provide an invaluable resource to developers on both the hardware and software end. Without the hardcore gamers passion and dedication to the art, we would not have the quality games that are available today.
Since the purchase power of the casual gamer determines what becomes a best seller, it is understandable why the hardcore gamer has such contempt for the group.

Noun:
A group of people who play and enjoy video games. Most gamers, including the so-called hardcore gamers started off as this. They play games because they are fun. Some may find fun in making a high score. Others may find joy in hanging out with their friends while playing popular games. These popular games change over the years. Some series with hardcore fans as the primary audience today (ex. Street Fighter) were at their peak of popularity when a wide variety of audiences played them. Casual fans are blamed for the increase in bad games, but those who say this either never owned a NES or a Sega Genesis (two examples of great systems with tons of crap games) or are mad at the fact that there are people who would rather play Wii Sports Resort than Call of Duty. What they don't realize is that Call of Duty is a game also played by casual gamers. These same individuals complain whenever they see a game like Mushihime-sama, BlazBlue or Tales of Monkey Island. They see these games (and others like them) as too old, too ugly, tookiddy, or way too hard. When another sequel comes out for Madden, they bitch and complain and yet when games which match their old-school tastes are released most of these hardcore gamers refuse to buy them unless if they are sequels to popular series (ex. Mega Man 10).
Jamal the casual gamer likes playing Grand Theft Auto 4. He also likes playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band. He loves playing these games alone but he finds them even more fun when he's playing them with his friends.
Jenny the hardcore gamer hates people who play those games. She thinks that anyone who plays these games is a moron. She's never met Jamal but clearly his tastes show that he's not very smart. How could anyone enjoy games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Grand Theft Auto 4? Doesn't he know that REAL gamers play games like Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, and Super Street Fighter IV?

A casual gamer is a misconstrued word (often moronically) whereby anyone who plays Sports games or is a supporter of EA are deemed casual. However, this is incorrect.
Casual gamers are gamers that can only find the time to play games every so often and when they feel like it. They don't feel the need to play daily or weekly. Often it's "harcore" gamers that like to use the term casual as an insult and these are the one's who are truly pathetic.
OMG's! dat H4rdcor3 GamerZ just called me a casual gamer as an insult. He must get Laid a lot!

1. Organisms that usually support only PlayStation or XBox consoles(never both). Only playing sports games and hyped games with no real deep sensible gameplay, they strive to get the hottest new games with nothing but graphics going for it.
2. Creatures who criticize certain games that "wouldn't appeal to them" without even playing them. (Mainly Nintendo games)
3. VH1 and MTV supporters.
4. "Gamers" that will eventually bring the downfall to the gaming industry if us true gamers don't do something about it.
I hope casual gamers aren't let into Heaven, for their ignorance and obliviousness will be the downfall of my afterlife as well!

A casual gamer is somebody who doesn't know jack shit about video games.
Their "game" collection often consists mainly of annually rehashed sports titles with buggy engines and unbalanced gameplay as well as other EA garbage. Many casual gamers refuse to play Nintendo games because they're too "hardcore" to play that "kiddy crap," yet they're the type of cowards who'll give up on games like Ninja Gaiden, because "it's too hard."
Other popular games among casuals are: Grand Theft Auto, a pointless game that appeals to the type of idiot who thinks shooting a hooker is as funny the thousandth time as the first; Gran Turismo, because driving around in circles is the most rewarding gameplay experience ever; and Tomb Raider, because shitty games can sell well just like shitty music if they have enough "sex appeal."
Casual gamers bought a PSP for $250 just to fill it with shitty MP3s.
