Jim Cramer

Former hedge fund manager and best-selling author. Cramer hosts CNBC's "Mad Money" program and is the co-founder of TheStreet.com.

Person 1: Who is Jim Cramer?

Person 2: Oh! He told me to buy the NYSE (stock symbol: NYX) at about $100. That fucker said the stock would increase to $250! Now it's well below $65 and I'm getting raped in the ass. The worst part is that I'm all out of lube!

The Cramer Effect

The so called "Crammer effect" is a phenomenon where the host of Mad Money, Jim Cramer, will announce that a stock/crypto will go one way, but the actual long-term outcome will be the absolute opposite of said prediction.

1: Oh man, I invested all of my money into Coinbase stock like Cramer said "Coinbase to $475" on his show Mad Money
2: Jim Cramer ? Have you never heard of the Cramer Effect ?
1: I guess I shouldn't listen to his advice anymore.

Cramer effect

A stock price that crashes after Jim Cramer pumps it.

Jim Kramer gave Netflix a buy rating.
Price just dropped $100. Cramer effect.

“No! No! No! Bear Stearns is fine,” Cramer shouted in response to the question. “Do not take your money out. Bear Stearns is not in trouble. If anything, they’re more likely to be taken over. Don’t move your money from Bear. That’s just being silly. Don’t be silly.”

Inverse Cramer

The act of buying Put options on a stock or fund recommended by network TV shills like Jim Cramer, thereby making a profit when the stock price inevitably tanks.

Motley Fool said I should forget Gamestop and buy Roku, so I did an Inverse Cramer and used the gains to buy more GME!

Cramer bounce

When Jim Cramer highly recommends a stock on "mad money" and it goes up significantly the next day.
While much can be attributed to his fine acumen, his popularity can not be factored out of the resulting uptick.

I expect to get a "cramer bounce" on my joy global shares tomorrow (joyg) after he touts it on his show tonite...
