A game that is nowhere near as popular as it once was. Typically a dead game will have a playercount that is 5-10% as large as it was at its peak.
In some cases, dead games have been completely abandoned by their developers and have not received updates in a long time.
Fortnite is such a dead game, none of my friends play it anymore.

In dog fighting terminology, the dog that keeps trying to win the match while he or she is dying. Also a dog that almost dies fighting and shows eagerness to end the fight, having lots of possibilities to die still fighting. Sad way to keep a breed existing for its gameness.
This dog died fighting against his brother in the pit. He lost and died but he got the title of dead game because he kept trying until he lost his life.

Any Video Game with less than 1,000 players on a consistent bases is considered “Dead”
However a game that has less than 1,000 players but still receives updates and new content added to the game. it is considered not dead.
