A young lad/lass, typically 8-14 in age, a peak grom is just 12 years old. Gangly, awkward, and just at the age where they could maybe survive out on their own, but probably not. They get into mad immature and suspicious activity, but aren’t old enough to get into serious trouble. Not all kids are groms though—if you’re responsible, you likely don’t qualify as a grom.

Hilariously mangled spelling of "Gorn", the large reptilian alien from the Star Trek television series.
Gorn was first misspelled as "Gorm" in various forum and email messages, which was later further mangled into "Grom".
Fun Fact: Groms is generally considered to be the singular of Groms.
