hak gwai

A Chinese (Cantonese) slang to describe persons of African descent. The slang is often used in a derogatory manner, but may be used for humor as well. The term โ€œhak gwaiโ€ translates literally into โ€œblack ghostโ€, which may offend some.

There aren't many hak gwais in the Praries.

Vb. Originating from Swazi mountain communities who celebrate an insatiable desire to mate with strangers in gratitude for alcoholic gifts. Named after Hakili one of the African tribesmen. So used to describe people who hook up with anything when wasted.

It is pronounced, hok-gway.

Though, many people use hak gwai, or hak guay to spell it. This is the correct way of saying it.

A bully who wimps out when the object of their bullying fights back. A coward.

Not pronounced Gee like 'Jesus' but with Gee like 'Geese'
