When a hurricane is coming and those ordered to evacuate take advantage of the situation and make a vacation out of it. Those who choose to remain home and put shutters on their house gather around with family and friends and ride it out. Usually the rich/middle class people take a flight and travel and the poor ones with shitty homes flee to another state. It can be usually seen as a good and bad thing because schools and workplaces are shut down but homes are at risk.

A hurrication is when you leave because of the approaching hurricane but turn it into a vacation at the same time.
