If a content creator who deserves more recoginition gets a popular meme, it will be in a way where they can't be recognized for it. The name comes from the fact that this has happened to the streamer Jerma985 multiple times.
"Woah *insert streamer* has a popular meme now? Damn too bad Jerma's Law is true."
This event occurs when chat tells a streamer perform an action, the streamer rejects this request, thinks about it some more, then does it. This event more often than not leads to tragedy.

A curse sometimes incurred by content creators (most notably Jerma) in which they go viral often but no one recognizes them, popular Jerma examples include The small enemy spider, the giant enemy spider, peep the horror, when the impostor is sus, etc.

This comes from when popular Twitch streamer Jerma985 read a chat message about how they loved to put skittles in their urethra out loud.
