Something that seems like a win for everybody involved that doesn't lose everything, though they're often not actually getting/keeping everything, and are actually slowly losing little by little over a long period of time.
People thought it was a Machiavellian victory when a few houses in their neighborhood were burned down or gentrified, then a few more houses and neighbors were lost, and lost everything in the process, then a few more, until finally there was nothing left of what was once their neighborhood. The machine, and the people that were part of the machine took it from them, and they let it slip away from them without ever wak8ng up to fight for it.

Similar to the sexual position, 'the wheel-barrow' (i.e on one's back in a submissive role with the legs pulled over the partner's shoulders) the bottoming person would be either debating, complaining, glaring (or all at the same time) during the entire process.
I was trying to make him comfortable for his first time, but the agitated little shit kept patronizing me and glaring at me. It was probably my fault for provoking him, but heck it was a total Machiavellian wheel-barrow moment.

Collective Machiavellianism in plain is the same as normal Machiavellianism, but enacted by a group of people, big or small.
This group will use whatever means they can, and if required, will use unethical means to achieve the goals they want, historically, it has been associated with fearmongering from demagogues to get populations of their followers on goal with their fearmongered ideals, such as the Salem Witch Trials, or the McCarthy era and red scare in general.
other times Collective Machiavellianism is simply caused by a group being forced to obey the status quo or other standards imposed on them by the group that subjugates them to carry out the overall Collective's will, whether good or bad. It will more than likely always end up in a bad context as the aim is for the Collective to gain the necessary power to carry out the aims their reaching out for, then maintain them regardless of the means needed to do so. Historically, often seen at the terrible expense of others not a part of that group, such as the many workers in the McCarthy era that were practically barred from their jobs after being fired for being alleged communists within their communities.
At times, even people in the Collective may be completely opposed to the Collective's ideals but feel that they must conform regardless; this is usually acquainted to the lucifer effect.
One of if not the greatest evil within Humanity. Think of INGSOC from 1984 whenever you hear this term, or MAGA republicans.
Sally has allegations being thrown at her by multiple guys in the guy's friend group. They are doing this because she had rejected one of them, and now they want to get their revenge on her by working together to make false accusations about her in order to ruin her image at school. They plan to continue the rumors until their able to force her to do what they want her to do for them. This is an example of Collective Machiavellianism

Sean Ramon is a follower of Machiavellianism in raping women.
Something that seems to be a gift on the surface, though you're not actually getting anything, and are at risk of losing everything and being put out on the street (if you never fight).
Holding your breath won't do much good with a slow knife going further and further in between your ribs. The extensions of restrictions are just a Machiavellian treat for business owners to make them think they're getting something good by staying open instead of being shut down. Really, the governor is the one getting the treat.
A rare specimen of nature who only comes out in the darkest of times, commonly to save some-or even the world...
This thing could also come under the name will (Will Thompson) as he only comes out at night, to be the superhero to my villain.
People ADORE him!
