A form of management practiced by neurotic, uptight and middle-aged white males. This form of management often involves nonsensical and brandish displays of masculinity. In addition to this, it is often characterized by repetitive and demeaning orders as well as the occasional scolding.

Helicopter Micromanagement refers to a manager who pays extremely close attention to his or her subordinate's experiences and problems, above and beyond the normal micromanagement style normally exhibited.
My manager told me she is making a surprise appearance at the meet and greet today. Some people just have to observe everything and anything. I'm surprised she doesn't come to my house to make sure I brush my teeth correctly. Talk about helicopter micromanagement.
