New England

The six north-easternmost American states, located north and west of New York (north of Long Island, which is part of NY). Historically, eastern New York is occasionally included as part of New England (Vermont was actually part of NY at one point), but today it consists of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

New England

The six greatest states in the country. In the New England states, you will deal with fewer rednecks and far less ignorance, as most of the ivy league schools can be found here. The vacation spots are unbeatable and most people dress decent. In the fall, the foliage is a major tourist attraction. During the winter months, people visit to stay in lodges or ski. In the spring and summer, the beaches are crowded and the small towns earn the most money by housing all of the vacationers who decide to stay at Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Each state has its own perks... Oh yeah, did I mention that the Patriots are better than any other team?

Guy 1: "You're from New England? You must be a fuckin' Democrat hippie."

Guy: "No, I'm not a hippie, but yes, I do have more money than you."

New England

If the stereotypes are to be believed, then it is the land of the socialized psychopaths. According to stereotypes, the people are:
-apathetic/coldly aloof/callous
-narcissistic/arrogant/self absorbed
-shallowly charismatic/good enough at faking to get rich
-well schooled/intelligent/smart enough to get what they want
-manipulative
-deceitful
-bad drivers/impulsive drivers

However, though there are no doubt people in the region who fit such a description, there is a silent majority who are pretty good people. Some of them are just so unused to energetic or very happy personalities that they regard them with suspicion, and are uncomfortable with very friendly strangers. They warm up to a person after a while, though, when they grow use to or comfortable with them. Also, not everyone there is rich, liberal, preppy, and/or has gone to private schools. Most New Englanders that I have met live in single story (2 if you count the attic) houses on 1/4 or maybe 1/3 an acre of land, go to public school, don't give a damn about politics, and are annoyed by preps. "Wicked" as a substitute for very is common, though, as rumored.

That dude there isn't as much of an asshole as you would think. You wouldn't guess he was from New England if it wasn't for him saying "wicked awesome".

New England

The six northeastern states in the United States (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine) where they are excessively preoccupied with issues of adequacy, power and prestige only because they are dominated by private schools including Harvard and Yale. Full of rich democrats who believe in nothing but world peace.

Guy from Cali: You've got Harvard but we've got Stanford.

Guy from New England: You peasant.

New England

New England is made up of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. The region is known for its inhabitants' intelligence, work ethic, reserve, peppiness, and liberal tendencies.

And no, Connecticut, sorry, you don't count. Anywhere that has loud New York people and/or Yankees fans is NOT New England. Enjoy being a Middle Atlantic state with New York and Jersey, because that's really where you belong... at least from a cultural standpoint.

It's obvious people from Connecticut are actually "Noo Yawkas," and not "New Englandahs."
