When a social event is photographed entirely with a nikon camera (more specifically, the ubercool Nikon D40), the tendency for the photos to look like the party was super fun, although it was really quite boring.
Nikon Effect is prevalent at parties dominated by vain nikonite girls.
The Nikon Effect doubles or even triples when the photos are posted on facebook or myspace for all who weren't invited to view and envy.
Girl 1: Did you see the pictures from Allie's kickback? It looked so chill! I wish I had gone...
Girl 2: Don't worry about it. I asked Clare how it was and she said it was actually really awkward. You were just seeing the Nikon Effect in the pics.

One of Nikon's last rangefinder cameras, the SP catered to the professional market. Boasting 4 selectable finder frames as well as the 35 and 28 in a separate window, Nikon achieved in 1957 what it took Leica until the 1980's to do.
A: Hey man, check out my Leica M9!
B: I'd rather use my Nikon SP.
A professional photography camera, Best for beginners.
Jack: Woah, That picture has really great quality. What camera was it taken with?
Jill: A Nikon D40!
