Psychedelic trance or psytrance is a form of electronic music characterized by hypnotic arrangements of synthetic rhythms and complex layered melodies created by high tempo riffs. It first broke out into the mainstream in 1995 as the UK music press began to report on the trend of Goa trance. Since then the genre has grown immensely and now offers much variety in terms of mood, tempo, and style. Some examples include full on, dark, progressive, suomi, psybreaks and psybient.
The DJ tonight plays mainly PsyTrance music.

Psytrance is super repetitive music originating in Goa in the early 90s it has the most depressing "drops" ever with long build-ups only to return back to the same repetitive beat psytrance drops are the definition of an anticlimax. The only time that the music is truly bearable is if you are tripping balls and you can hear colours.

Psytrance, but with darker atmospheric synths and a more twisted overall sound. Can be much more aggressive than psytrance. Notable artists include Kindzadza, Paraforce, Terranoise, and Xenomorph.
