The word tripe gets confused with the words trifle and trite -usually by dumb, urban illiterates. Enough time passes and the word becomes cool to use as stupid jargon, while typically wearing clothes several sizes too large.

Someone who hangs around to find out all your business, and then tells it to everyone and their momma. (Best used in instances of severe anger, placed neatly in a sentence of dialogue, before or after an expletive.)
