The second year of the new millennium and of the 2000s. 2001 was a really good year (Excluding the 9/11 event).
It was the last year of the 90s setting, but not the decade which ended two years before. (In 1999 - of course, however the setting was still there in 2000 and half in 2001). GameCube and Xbox were born, Nickelodeon aired shows like As told by ginger, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, CatDog, etc. meanwhile, social media did not exist back in 2001, so everyone talked to each other with their eyes locked, rather than using their phones to text each other, even though they are literally sitting next to each other. The year where iPhones were flip phones, and the first iPod was born. Great music was up, like It wasn't me from Shaggy or Can't get you out of my head.

A. a more specific (non-official) title of dr. dre's masterpiece hip-hop album. occasionally people will mix up The Chronic and Chronic 2001. to avoid this confusion simply use the latter.
B. considered by many as the pinnacle of all hip-hop albums because of its production and its all-star list of featured guests. simply put; it was made by the best, with the best, and therefore one of the greatest rap efforts of all time.

A similar phrase to "Literally 1984" but it is used instead in response to a post or comment misusing the term neurodivergent or related terms/ideas. It's unclear why the year 2001 was chosen.
