A short 6-second looping video service where users could make, watch and loop short videos. Twitter acquired the company in 2012, it was released in 2013 and was a smash hit growing significantly in the first two years. But in 2015 there was a large user downfall, with Twitter not making enough money out of the service and was archived in 2016. A popular meme and reference has emerged from this rip vine causing the popularity to boom quickly and is now known as the centuries inside joke.
