A bindi is summarily defined as a woman or girl of south asain ancestral decent who is favored or liked by a "bhuvan" (refer to definition)

This term can also be used interchangeably in varying social situations to refer to the female gender in general. For example, if a Person sees a group of Desi girls .. That would be referred to as a "bunch of bindis. A social event party filled with Desi girls ..

It can be used as a term of endearment relating to a specific woman.

The ebonics phrase "what up girl" can be equated with "what up bindi"

Conversely it can be used in an endearing fashion to refer to a woman that has captured or grabbed the attention of a gentlemen.

A widely used meaning for bindi signifies the specific and deep liking of a bhuvan (male) for a female .. When referring to a couple, one can say .. " that is that bhuvan's bindi"
