Middle Child Syndrome

A disposition that generally arises with the middle child of three children in a household. Middle children often lack the attention that the oldest (the most important child) and the youngest (the parent's favorite child) receive.

Middle child syndrome is often characterized by: lack of friends (a loner), inability to maintain relationships, extreme creativity (writing, music, art, etc.), an easy going personality, trouble choosing a career path, trouble maintaining a career, quick loss of interest in things, negative outlook on life, half-assing, and indecisiveness. Famous middle children include David Letterman, Madonna, and Richard Nixon. Need I say more?

I am a middle child. I suffer from middle child syndrome. Therefore I am creative in writing this, but also extremely middle child-esque for writing this melancholy piece.

Second Child Syndrome

In a family of two children, the oldest child might appear to be perfect in every way to the parents, whereas the younger sibling is much more boisterous and less well behaved.

Often times parents will abstain from having anymore children after their second born, out of fear that their already problemed child might also develop middle child syndrome.

Mom:I don't get it. When Tom was in grade 5, he was getting A's in every single subject, but Jeremy is only getting B's and C's. He even got suspended twice this year, whereas Tom never even had to go to the office once.
Dad:It's probably because Tom is suffering from second child syndrome.

Middle Child Syndrome

an emotional scarring condition.
Middle children are known for ending up with the things that are too big for the baby in the family and too small for the oldest.
it is a known fact the youngest and oldest are treated differently than the middle child for the oldest is the first child aka favorite
and the smallest is the baby aka the last child known for getting whatever they desire because they are the "baby"

Middle Children sydrome includes
neglect, forgotten dates, and sometimes in bad cases forgetting they even exist.

i lived through this condition,
it is not fatal
just difficult.

a first born: OH i just got this GREAT new car!
a middle child: oh...i have to wait until my sister wrecks hers...then i can have that and they will get her a new one
a first born: oh Middle Child Syndrome, i see.

Middle Child Syndrome

Middle child syndrome is something that I go through... itโ€™s hard. The oldest child is the one who is most dependable in the parents eyes. The youngest is the sibling who is an attention seeker, and with that they get attention. As the middle child, you are always forgotten, not noticed, have a little to no self worth. We usually become very social people and have a large group of friends. But, people will make assumptions about you thinking you have the best life ever, so whenever you talk to one of them about it they deny everything you tell them or call you an attention seeker. The qualityโ€™s of a middle child consist of huge creativity, social, antreverts, but are very much introverts towards their family. Iโ€™m a middle child, so I know all of this is true.

Mom: Kelsey (oldest) come here!
Kelsey: What did you need?

Mom: I got you a new phone!
Kelsey: Omg mom, thank you!
Mom: I got you a new phone to, Addie! (youngest)
Addie: Thanks, Mom!
Mom: Sorry Layla (middle), I couldnโ€™t get you one.
Layla: Itโ€™s fine....

Only Child Syndrome

A terrible disease that typically effects only-children, but can occasionally strike people with siblings. It may also effect children whose parents divorce.
Symptoms include: playing mind games with members of the opposite sex, a cripling desire for instant gratification, the inability to compromise or share, and a total disregard for anyones thoughts or feelings but their own.

Example 1: Man, that girl is such a bitch- she wouldn't even spare a square! She has the worst case of only child syndrome I've ever seen!

Example 2: My boss has the worst case of only child syndrome ever! Every time I do something good he finds a way to slam me down just so he can feel better about himself.

Only Child Syndrome

Most commonly affects teenage guys. Only Child Syndrome is a terrifying disease to those who approach the infected. It most commonly infects only children, but in some rare cases people with siblings have been known to have the disease. Symptoms are selfishness, inability to comprehend other peopleโ€™s feelings, and overall brat-like behaviour. If rejected in any way, for example, a breakup, those who are affected by Only Child Syndrome will most likely isolate themselves in an attempt for attention. Do not, under any condition, pander to these pathetic cries for attention. Itโ€™s all for a bit of drama.

Person 1: Mate, Alex told me that I would let him have my phone if I truly loved him!! How lame is that?

Person 2: Ignore him, itโ€™s Only Child Syndrome.
