forward

Email forwards tend to be generated by nincompoops. They seem to believe that email domains/businesses/ghosts can track your emails and see how many people you send them to.

Often people believe ill babies will get money from AOL. Or perhaps that sending it to 30 people will grant a wish of your choice, improve your luck and or sex life.

The worst part of this phenomenon is that many people believe it. Please don't join them.

Serial Forwarder

A "Serial Forwarder" is that person who blows up your email in-box with every piece of internet humor that tickles their fancy. Often times this person is a good friend whom you don't want to upset by explaining just how annoying it is to have to clean their "cute jokes", chain emails, their "partisan political humor" and other asinine internet tidbits out of your in-box every day. Opening and viewing email from a "serial forwarder" can even put your computer at risk of a virus adding to the level of annoying achieved by these people.

Every day I get 2 to 4 stupid/annoying emails forwarded to me by a 67 year old man who is the father of a good friend of mine. Out of respect, I have not told this "serial forwarder" how annoying his forwarded emails are so I simply delete them without even looking at them.

going forward

A completely unnecessary and meaningless corporate buzz phrase that somehow gets shoehorned into every memo, press release or public statement. It can always be eliminated from the text without any effect at all upon the intended meaning.

"If any member of the New England Patriots organization is close enough to a murder investigation to get arrested, it is too close to an unthinkable act for that person to be part of this organization going forward."- Robert Kraft

Going forward

Corporate-speak phrase, usually repeated three times per paragraph, that has completely replaced the phrase "in the future" and "from now on". Generally used at the beginning and the end of a sentence.

"Going forward, there will be a 0-tolerance policy on bathroom stall gaffitti. We're serious about this, going forward.
