kick a dog

Yet another example of my little brother's obscene colloquial expressions. An interjection used to signify excitement or enthusiasism.

Jamie: Oh that's friggin' awesome! Kick a DOG!

Me: What the? What did I tell you about kicking dogs?

Jamie: "It's fun"?

kick the dog

To feel bad about yourself because of the way you are.
To hate something about yourself that you cant change.
Sometimes to hate the way others react to what you do or say.

Why do you have to kick the dog every night about cuz you dont have a girlfriend?

Hey, hey, man, dont do it I saw you kick the dog into a brick wall last time you went and confessed to missing a date with your girlfriend just so you could trip with your mates.

Man I never kick the dog over how big my dong is I just wish I had some girl who knew a place i could put it

kick-the-dog syndrome

The act of mistreating a peer or someone inferior to you out of frustration because a superior (whom you can't argue with) has treated you poorly.

Apparently he came home and just started yelling. It's kick-the-dog syndrome: his boss is an asshole and he takes it out on her.

kick-the-dog effect

The angry behaviour shown by a person when he has to accept all blame and he cannot shift it to anybody else because he is in the lowest rung of hierarchy in his organization. This happens when a boss, who is to blame, shifts the blame to his junior, who, in turn, passes it to his junior and so on till the blame reaches the lowest-ranked staff, who cannot pass it to anybody else. Then he goes home and takes it out on his dog by kicking it about.

Angry at having to bear the blame for no fault of his, the peon came back home in the evening and kicked his dog repeatedly. A kick-the-dog effect, isn't it?

I'm gonna kick my dog

Something one says when their upset, but not really mad, just something funny to say to relieve stress cause no one would really kick their dog.

Guy 1: " I just missed my last 10 shots, "I'm gonna kick my dog"
Guy 2: " Really your gonna go home and kick your dog?"
Guy 1: "No i'm JK".

Go home and kick the dog

An expression used to alleviate your anger when referring to democrats screwing up your country.. used as comedic relief

Obama just tried to pass his health care plan and is finding a way for prisoners to escape capital punishment. That just makes me want to go home and kick the dog!
