Mother (with a sympathetic look):
"Oh, honey, it's not noticeable at all."
Son (grumbling):

When mothers or mother-like figures put their arm in front of your body as if to guard you from an impending threat.
May occur if:
a) Your mom is driving and must suddenly stop short, break hard, or perform any other semi-dangerous driving maneuver especially in response to someone else's bad driving
b) If you are about to cross a busy intersection and she wants to protect you from oncoming traffic and/or keep you from crossing before she gives consent
Mom enacted a Maternal Hand Save when a car suddenly turned in front of ours.
Insult simular to "your mother" but more insulting because your not only insulting their mother, your instulting all their maternal lineage. (Thats their mum, grand mum, great-grand mum ect)
Father: "What subject did you score highest in school, son?"
Pretentious teen rebel: "Your maternal lineage."
