In politics, someone who only focuses on or argues about surface level and/or very old talking points, minimizes the severity of political points by making ridiculous exceptions, or essentially has the same grasp on politics as baby boomers. The term often applies to neoconservatives and libertarians, used by more traditional conservatives.

Guy 1: “it’s only the illegal ones that are bad, without legal immigrants how would we get authentic tacos?”

Guy 2: “it’s not ALL gays, just the ones who make it their whole personality”
