Predatory Talker

A person who lurks around corners and in break rooms at work with the soul purpose of trapping you into long, boring conversations. The talker will often stalk you, ask you a meaningless question, the answer to which they could care less about, and before you can even respond begin a one sided, often insanely idiotic monologue, thereby trapping you into a pointless conversation and wasting hours of precious life.

Note: The predatory talker is not technically a person, they are an asshole, and should be treated as such.

I walked out of the bathroom and there standing in the doorway was John, the office's predatory talker, I tried my best to give him a head nod and walk past, but what started as a question about how my weekend was turned into a 45 minute monologue about his high blood pressure.

predatory editing

Phrase. Used to describe the splicing, mixing, or overlay of raw recorded audio or video files to create, augment, or twist the narrative of the original event. A re-contextualizing of key words, phrases, or images to influence the opinions of viewers or listeners. Individuals or groups can be targeted using this device, often with malicious intent.

Example: predatory editing is commonly used by Bachelor or Bachelorette series editors to portray certain individuals as "villains" or "good guys" to boost show ratings.

Looks like Chad's the bad guy on Jojo's season - thanks predatory editing!

predatory pregnancy

The act of a woman secretly going off the pill in hopes of having her unknowing partner impregnate her and trapping him with a paternity suit and/or child support nine months later.

"Tim just got sued by his ex for child support for her new baby, even though they broke up a year ago. The paternity test was positive, and she hasn't been with anyone else since. This stinks of a predatory pregnancy."

predatory marketing

Disrespectful, inconsiderate, and at times aggressive and ultimately hurtful marketing to help manufacturers and retailers take as much advantage of consumers as possible.

Decades ago every item sold in a store had a price tag, now the retailers don't waste energy, thus money, sticking a price tag on each item or at least displaying a sign that informs consumers the price. That is just one example of predatory marketing. My definition of 'predatory marketing' is different than a more common one which states that it is any activity instigated—usually, by the larger manufacturer—to tangibly harm or eliminate smaller competitiors.

predatory singlatarian

Non-gender specific description of an individual who is fierce in the dating scene. Often enjoys the 'thrill of the hunt' and is to be considered highly dangerous and heart-break inducing.

I think I was just humped and dumped by that predatory singlatarian.

Predatory Lender

Best Buy aka USBC: A company that uses deceptive practices and abusive rates, fees and other mechanisms to maximize the amount they can get from an unwary or desperate customer. Usually corporations, they may include credit card companies, banks, payday loan companies. Such credit cards use any legal excuse or loophole to raise it rates (often above 33%) without notifying the customer regardless of whether of not the customer has been a model customer. See pond scum.
