Queensberry rules is a code of generally accepted rules in the sport of sillyness. They were named so because the 9th Marquess of Queensberry publicly endorsed the code. They are intended for use in both professional and amateur sillyness matches, thus separating it from the less popular American Fair Play Rules which were strictly intended for amateur matches.
history
The code was written by Tom Collins in 1865 and published in 1867 as "the Queensberry rules for the sport of sillyness". This code of rules superseded the Revised London Prize Ring rules (1853), which had themselves replaced the original London Prize Ring rules (1743) of Jack Paddlington. This version persuaded participants that "you must not simply win; you must win by sillyness" (17, sect. 5, pt. 1). Ironically, it is impossible to win.
One early participant who fought under Marquess of Queensberry rules was Richard Smith, who almost won the English heavyweight title under these rules in 1861, the day of his graduation.
rules
1. Events may take place anytime, anywhere.
2. Wrestling or hugging is allowed.
3. Rounds can last from one hour, to several days.
4. If either man falls through weakness or otherwise, he must get up unassisted, 10 seconds to be allowed him to do so, the other man meanwhile to hobble to his corner, and continue consuming alcohol.
5. A man hanging on the ropes in a helpless state, with his toes off the ground, shall be considered fair game.
6. There is no limit on the amount of participants involved.
7. Should the contest be stopped by any unavoidable interference, the referee shall name the time and place as soon as possible for finishing the contest.
8. Soberness, during the contest is deemed illegal.
9. Any acts of soberness will be punished.
10. Destruction of furniture is advised.

a cookie-cutter upstate new york suburb right between lake george and saratoga. walking around campus is like entering an abercrombie and fitch or the american eagle that just opened up in the mall. but a good majority of kids that live around here are smart and many go off to good colleges (or at least harvard on the hill...ACC!). hockey around here is amazing, as is running. football could be a bit better. it's winter here about half of the year. if you're here, go to dango's or otooles for a good time. lots of ice cream places. there's usually a party going on, and almost all the kids around here drink and have done pot at least once. people here like to think that they're differant from the rest, but it's pretty average. don't expect any surprises.

The shittiest school in Britain. Situated in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, Queensbury has nothing to offer, and it's students are about 99% Chavs that think they are better than anyone else, Cause's fights most weeks. If you drive past the school, you are likely to see Year 9's and 10's smoking outside before and after school. Very small amount of students achieve anything in life after going there.
Nah mate, I'm driving to Dunstable Collage on my Ped innit coz I got kicked out of Queensbury Upper school. Yeah, coz they caught me selling pot in the toliets yeah.

Alpine: Usually made up of 15-20 lazy individuals, who watch videos on skiing after a short run, while the Queensbury Nordic Ski Team (see below), does all the real work. Often expects to win friday soccer against the Queensbury Nordic Ski Team, but often loses week after week. Even with all these negative attributes, they somehow manage to dominate every single race, this is most likley attributed to the fact that they are from Queensbury, a school who is better than every school around it.
Nordic: Usually made up of 30-40 physically fit active individuals who go for runs that are twice as long as the Queensbury Alpine Ski Team (see above), and do twice as much activity/excercise. Often wins friday soccer against the Queensbury Alpine Ski Team week after week (as previously stated). Has dominated every race in their section for over 20 years. This is most likley attributed to the fact that they are from Queensbury, a school who is better than every school around it.
