Scenecore

A genre of hip hop that’s actually closer to hyperpop and EDM. The genre has died and been revived numerous times, but has started to re-emerge since 2021, with artists like Odetari, 6arelyhuman, and Kets4eki gaining popularity

Guy 1: “You listen to that new Odetari track?”
Guy 2: “Who’s Odetari?”
Guy 1: “Some scenecore artist who dropped a song called Good Loyal Thots
Guy 2: “OHHH that dude”

Scenecore

-simplified or stereotyped version of the Scene kid subculture.
-Very disrespectful if this is used to call scene kids as "scenecore"

(Reason why it's disrespectful to call a scene kid "scenecore": Using the term "scenecore" to refer to the scene subculture can be considered disrespectful. The scene subculture is a diverse and complex community that includes people with various interests, styles, and preferences. By using a term like "scenecore," which suggests a simplified or stereotyped version of the subculture, you risk oversimplifying and undermining the complexity and diversity of the community. It is important to be respectful and accurate when discussing subcultures and communities, and to avoid using terms that might be considered derogatory or dismissive.)
-Burrows elements of Scene
-Used to be called poser(core) but now it's currently called "scenecore"
-Similar to the 2020 alt style
-Probably made by teenagers who didn't completely understand the concept of scene, and instead of looking at it as a sub-culture, they look at it more as an aesthetic.

"I wanna dress like a scenecore kid!"

"Woah, that person dresses like a scenecore kid!"
