The handle that is located above the car door on the interior of the car or across from the mirror on the outside of the car. Sometimes it is used for getting into the car, but can also be used for oh shit moments when the passenger wishes not to be tossed around the car on turns, hard breaking, or fast driving.
I hold on to the oh shit handle every time there is a turn or a hard breaking in the car to brace myself so I do not move around the car and get hurt.

term referring to the handles above or adjacent to the windows of a car. they are most often grabbed when the driver initiates sudden, and often extreme, accelerating or decelerating motion of the vehicle. some prefer to hold on to them at all times due to anxiety or distrust of the drivers abilities in general.

The handle on the roof or up high on the side of a car on the inside that you can hold while going around really sharp turns, etc. but usually never use. When you do use it it is probably during something very dangerous, i.e. drifting around public roads or swerving around deer, and gets its name from the words you exclaim at the times you have to grab it.
"OH SHIT" I said as I grabbed the oh-shit handle when we were drifting around the really sharp turn.
