Talent Agency

An organization that secures work for talent in the entertainment business; essentially an employment agency for entertainers.

When my friend asked me who she should call to get into the entertainment business, I told her to find a reputable talent agency like Crown Model Management or William Morris.

ordering agency

the ability to order something on the menu by one's own volition, without input from anybody else.

Waitress: "So, what will it be, Sid?"

Sid: "I'll let Mikey order first."

Mikey: "The Chicken Fried Rice"

Sid: "Yeah, one of that for me too."

Mikey: "You have no ordering agency..."

alphabet agency

A colloquial term, typically used in a mocking fashion, used to describe a government agency, usually one that is part of the US law enforcement and intelligence network, that uses an abbreviation consisting of letters. For example the ATF, FBI, NSA, CIA, and similar agencies are considered alphabet agencies.

The term is particularly popular amongst the firearms community and on 4chan. Both of these communities have come into conflict with many of these agencies, and use this kind of language to mock the alphabet agencies. The cause of these conflicts include the ATF's enforcement and attempted enforcement of gun restrictions deemed illegitimate by the pro-gun community, the participation of other agencies assisting the ATF in said enforcement, alleged intrusion of privacy by intelligence agencies, the CIA's history of human rights violations such as MKultra, the FBI conveniently losing documents regarding the Hunter Biden controversy, the FBI allegedly plotting against selected political movements in favour of other parties, the ATF's cease and desist letter to Q regarding the Honey Badger pistol, the involvement of agencies in the Waco and Ruby Ridge sieges where atrocities were committed, crackdowns on legitimate gun accessory businesses for claims of their products (usually solvent traps) being able to be used as restricted accessories such as suppressors, as well as many more controversial acts by so-called alphabet agencies.

The ATF is just another alphabet agency meant to enforce the federal government's monopoly on violence and the only other things it does is do the DEA's job but worse and be the armed wing of the FDA.

job agency

A job agency is a government-regulated "company" that helps people get jobs by giving resumes to tons of other companies.
However, job agencies rape their employees' wages most of the time to stay alive. 90% of agency employees are brown, black, yellow, not white, etc, while the people working IN the agency building are always all white.

"Here, watch this WHMIS tape that you've probably watched hundreds of times by now and do this math quiz while I go back into my office and make fun of your foreign ass to my co-workers."

Captured Agency

An organization controlled by the group it is supposed to regulate.

Person 1: The hens are safe: the Federal Fox Stopping Agency (FFSA) is guarding the entire hen house.
Person 2: Um, the FFSA is a captured agency; everyone in charge there *is* a fox.

Person 1: Whatever, I trust them so much.

Person 2: Your hens, your choice. I'll put mine somewhere else.
Person 1: Not for long. Thanks to a new federal law, ALL hens must now be guarded by the FFSA only. If you try to put them somewhere else, the FFSA is fully authorized to eat them.

Person 2: There's your proof of a captured agency.
Person 1: Whatever, I trust them so much.
